Delhi government bans all forms of chewable tobacco for a year: Taking a big move Delhi government bans the manufacture, storage, distribution and sale of all forms of chewable tobacco in any form, any flavor such as Khaini, Pan Masala, Zarda etc. for a year.
The department of food and safety, NCT Delhi said that the steps taken in the interest of public health. Last year, the Delhi government had banned the sale of Gutkha. The chewable tobacco can cause Esophageal cancer, Lip cancer, Mouth cancer, Pharynx cancer, Tongue cancer, Heart diseases, high blood pressure, Increased risk of heart attack and stroke, Increased risk of early delivery and stillbirth when used during pregnancy.
