Gang rape during Jat quota stir: A Woman alleged gang-rape in Murthal during Jat quota stir on February 22. Haryana Police filed complainant on Sunday. The FIR was registered against seven people including the brother-in-law. Deputy inspector general of police Rajshree Singh conformed the woman is from Narela Delhi, she came to Murthal police station and registered the case. The woman was with her 12-year-old daughter, who was not harmed. The police looking at family dispute as one of the angles in the case, as her brother-in-law is also involved in it. Earlier three people claim that a woman drags out of the car by Jat protesters, they torn her clothes and take her into fields along the national highway 1 in Haryana. But the senior police officer said that during questioning in front of a judicial magistrate, they refused to admit that they had witnessed any rape or molestation incident during the riots on February 22, only they saw vehicles being torched.
During Jat quota stir Twenty-eight people were killed and over 200 injured in nine-day long agitation. Jat protesters blocked highways, roads and railway tracks in Haryana. Authorities had to requisition for the army and paramilitary forces to control the situation.
On Sunday Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said those who are involved in violence, inappropriate behavior with women during the Jat stir will be punished.
